Has HMS inspected Five Guys?
No. HMS does not certify Five Guys and has not inspected its supply chain, which means HMS cannot confirm that the meat served at Five Guys is Zabiha Halal. That is a statement about what HMS has verified, not a description of the business.
Why HMS will not guess
The HMS rule is simple: we certify only what we check. Meat becomes Halal through valid hand Zabiha on a permissible animal, with Bismillah pronounced individually, and it stays Halal only while it travels through approved and monitored hands. A menu note or an app category does not show any of that, as Halal labels on delivery apps and when chicken actually counts as Halal explain.
HMS publishes every certified location, so a certified Five Guys address would be searchable in the HMS directory today.
Suppliers, managers and menus change, which is why HMS relies on continued monitoring and surprise inspections rather than a single inspection at the beginning. A source that seemed acceptable last year may not be the same source serving you today.
Protect your deen: look for HMS Certified only
When the source is unverified, a Muslim leaves it. The Prophet ﷺ taught:
“Leave that which causes you doubt for that which does not cause you doubt.”
