Has HMS certified Subway?
HMS has not. Subway is not currently certified or monitored by HMS, and HMS has not examined where the meat served at Subway comes from or how the animals were slaughtered. HMS cannot confirm that it is Zabiha Halal.
Why HMS cannot vouch for it
HMS stands behind inspections rather than impressions: we certify only what we check. Halal meat means a permissible species, valid hand Zabiha and Bismillah on each individual animal, with every link in the chain accounted for. Neither a permissible species nor a friendly answer at the counter settles that, which is why why machine slaughter is not Zabiha and what a Halal sign really proves are worth reading.
Since HMS certifies individual locations, a certified Subway location would be listed in the HMS certified directory together with the products it covers.
Where Zabiha status cannot be established, the HMS advice to consumers is simple: do not eat the meat. Verification exists so that families do not have to rely on guesswork, second-hand reports or a memory of what somebody said several years ago.
Protect your deen: choose HMS Certified only
The Prophet ﷺ gave us the rule for exactly this situation:
“Leave that which causes you doubt for that which does not cause you doubt.”
Our advice is clear: avoid Subway until its Halal status has been verified. What you eat becomes part of your body and of your worship, and no meal is worth risking your deen for. Eat only where the claim has actually been checked. Find an HMS Certified place near you and choose HMS Certified only.
