Has HMS certified Ball Park?
HMS does not certify Ball Park and has not inspected the slaughter or processing behind Ball Park hot dogs, so HMS cannot confirm that it is Zabiha Halal.
Why the brand name is not enough
HMS certifies only what it checks. A permissible species is only the starting point: the animal must be slaughtered by hand Zabiha while alive, with Bismillah pronounced for each animal, and the Halal identity must then be protected through grinding, processing and packing. turkey and Zabiha and processed meat products explain why processed products need both the meat source and the process verified.
Certification can cover only certain products or production lines, so look for the HMS mark on the specific package and verify the product in the HMS certified directory rather than trusting a familiar label.
Where Zabiha status cannot be established, the HMS advice to consumers is simple: do not eat the meat. Verification exists so that families do not have to rely on guesswork, second-hand reports or a memory of what somebody said several years ago.
When in doubt, leave it
A lower price or a shorter drive is never a reason to eat what is doubtful. The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Leave that which causes you doubt for that which does not cause you doubt.”
