Has HMS inspected Nando's?
No. HMS does not certify Nando's and has not inspected its supply chain, which means HMS cannot confirm that the chicken served at Nando's is Zabiha Halal. That is a statement about what HMS has verified, not a description of the business.
Why HMS will not guess
The HMS rule is simple: we certify only what we check. Meat becomes Halal through valid hand Zabiha on a permissible animal, with Bismillah pronounced individually, and it stays Halal only while it travels through approved and monitored hands. A menu note or an app category does not show any of that, as Halal labels on delivery apps and when chicken actually counts as Halal explain.
HMS publishes every certified location, so a certified Nando's address would be searchable in the HMS directory today.
The safest habit is a simple one: check first, then order. The HMS directory is free to search, it shows what each certification actually covers, and it is kept up to date as businesses are certified, renewed or removed for non-compliance.

The Prophet ﷺ gave us the rule for exactly this situation:
“Leave that which causes you doubt for that which does not cause you doubt.”
Our advice is clear: avoid Nando's until its Halal status has been verified. What you eat becomes part of your body and of your worship, and no meal is worth risking your deen for. Eat only where the claim has actually been checked. Find an HMS Certified place near you and choose HMS Certified only.
