Has HMS inspected Dairy Queen?
No. HMS does not certify Dairy Queen and has not inspected its supply chain, which means HMS cannot confirm that the meat served at Dairy Queen is Zabiha Halal. That is a statement about what HMS has verified, not a description of the business.
Why HMS will not guess
The HMS rule is simple: we certify only what we check. Meat becomes Halal through valid hand Zabiha on a permissible animal, with Bismillah pronounced individually, and it stays Halal only while it travels through approved and monitored hands. HMS publishes every certified location, so a certified Dairy Queen address would be searchable in the HMS directory today.
Where Zabiha status cannot be established, the HMS advice to consumers is simple: do not eat the meat. Verification exists so that families do not have to rely on guesswork, second-hand reports or a memory of what somebody said several years ago.
When in doubt, leave it
Convenience is never a reason to eat what is doubtful. The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Leave that which causes you doubt for that which does not cause you doubt.”
